UBC’s Strategic Directions 2025-2030
The impetus for creating UBC’s Strategic Directions 2025–2030 was a shared recognition that the world had changed significantly since the university’s current plan, Shaping UBC’s Next Century 2018–2028 was created. Faced with so many new challenges and opportunities, the time was right to consider UBC’s long-term vision and priorities, especially with regard to our core academic and research mission.

UBC Okanagan’s Academic Priorities
UBC Okanagan has spent its first 20 years establishing itself as a vital part of a top-50 university, offering world class education and research in a unique, student-centered environment. In 2025, UBCO defined academic priorities for our campus that provide a strong foundation for academic units to work collectively towards a unified vision that will amplify our influence by focusing on transformative engagement with our local and global communities.

Campus Plan (2025)
Approved by the Board of Governors in 2025, the updated UBC Okanagan Campus Plan provides a long-term physical framework to guide the growth and evolution of the campus over the next 20 years. Building on the foundation of the 2015 Campus Plan, this updated Plan responds to new opportunities and emerging priorities—particularly the university’s evolving academic needs, climate commitments, and the goal of becoming a more complete, year-round university community.
